No Insurance Held by JunkMojo
JunkMojo operates solely as a booking intermediary. We do not perform junk removal ourselves, and we do not carry any of the following types of insurance:
- General liability insurance
- Commercial automobile insurance
- Workers' compensation or employer's liability insurance
- Cargo or contents insurance
- Property damage insurance
Any coverage that may exist for a given job belongs exclusively to the independent subcontractor performing that job — if they choose to carry it.
Independent Subcontractors
Every removal job booked through junkmojo.ca is fulfilled by an independent subcontractor. These individuals or companies:
- Are not employees or agents of JunkMojo
- Operate their own vehicles and equipment
- Are solely responsible for their own conduct, safety practices, and insurance coverage
- Are not supervised, directed, or controlled by JunkMojo during service delivery
JunkMojo makes no representation or warranty that any subcontractor is insured, licensed, or bonded. We strongly encourage customers who require proof of insurance to request it directly from the subcontractor prior to service.
Customer Acknowledgement
By submitting a booking through JunkMojo, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- JunkMojo does not hold liability insurance covering on-site services
- In the event of property damage, personal injury, or loss during a removal job, JunkMojo bears no financial responsibility
- Any claim for damages must be directed to the subcontractor who performed the service
- You are proceeding with full awareness of this arrangement
Protecting Yourself
We recommend the following steps to protect yourself when booking any junk removal service:
- Ask the subcontractor directly whether they carry general liability insurance
- Review your own homeowner's or tenant's insurance to understand what it covers regarding third-party contractors
- Remove or secure any fragile, valuable, or irreplaceable items before the removal crew arrives
- Be present during the removal to supervise and flag any concerns in real time
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the Province of Alberta and applicable federal Canadian law, JunkMojo shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to:
- Physical damage to your property caused during removal
- Personal injury to any person on the premises during service
- Loss of or damage to items being removed or adjacent property
- Acts, negligence, or omissions of any subcontractor
This limitation applies regardless of whether JunkMojo was advised of the possibility of such damages.
